U2’s performance on SNL over the weekend had us breathless with anticipation, waiting for the 260-lasers adorning Bono’s leather jacket customized by artist Moritz Waldemeyer to fire up.

Though unarguably one-of-a-kind, Bono is not the first to utilize Waldemeyer’s technology.Experimental British designer Hussein Chalayan has been all over Waldermeyer’s LED-blazoned jock for at least three seasons, including his Fall/Winter 2008 collection Airborne.

Describing the flowy white shift dresses that concealed some 15,000 LEDs as “winter relief wear,” Chalayan and Waldemeyer created the video dresses seen below.

Look closely, the dress on the left features a blurry time-lapse image of a rose blooming and closing, while the one on the right shows the shadowy, underwater silhouettes of swimming sharks.
